Black Mountain Boulevard Update!

The final design plans for Phase I will reach 90% in March, with 100% plans available to the contractor by mid-April. 60% design plans for Phase II are anticipated by the end of April.

After more than a year of planning and coordination with the public, local homeowner’s associations and government agencies, the City of Phoenix and Arizona Department of Transportation received the approved Final Environmental Assessment from the Federal Highway Administration in October 2013. This enabled the regional federal funding to be released for the final design and construction of the portion of Black Mountain Boulevard from Loop 101 to Pinnacle Peak Road.

The map details the two construction phases and schedule, to begin in May 2014. A pre-construction public open house for Phase I is anticipated to occur in April to provide the community an opportunity to learn more about construction details.
